As an international student, you must obtain a UAE study visa to join the university. UOWD provides a straightforward visa sponsorship service for non-resident students in the UAE.
To apply for visa sponsorship, you must meet the visa requirements stipulated by the UAE. You will need to submit a completed Visa Application Form along with the following documentation to the Student Recruitment Office:

• Clear colour Passport copy (with at least 6 months’ validity)
• 2 passport size photos (white background)
• Receipt for visa and tuition fees
• Copy of current visa (if you are inside UAE)
• Copy of offer of admission letter (only for new students)

You will need to pay the full cost of the student visa, which includes a Visa Maintenance charge. This charge is a one-time payment, which the University may use to meet visarelated expenses that occur throughout your studies at UOWD. You are eligible for a refund of the balance remaining of this charge after visa cancelation.

Student visa for 1 year is inclusive of the following:

• Visa processing fees (Entry Permit and Stamping)
• Change status (only applicable for ‘Inside UAE’ applicants)
• Regular Medical Examination
• Health Insurance (12 months)
• A Visa Maintenance charge

Key requirements of a student’s visa

• In order to secure a freshman student’s visa, the applicant must obtain an official
  admission letter from the university he is studying at. For older students, a certificate
  of continuation of study is needed. Other requirements include:
• passing medical fitness test
• a visa sponsor, either the university itself or a parent or relative
• Approval of the relevant General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners
  Affairs (GDRFA).
• Properly filled up online application form with signature of the
• 2 recent Passport size photos (51mm x 51mm) not older than Three months, no
  uniform, with white background with DARK DRESS and frontal view. Eyebrows
  should be visible. Ears, forehead chin to be completely visible In case of locals

What is the term of validity of the student’s visa

Currently, a student’s visa is given for a duration of one year, at a time, renewable for a similar period upon an official proof of continuation of a study issued from the relevant higher educational institute in the UAE where the student is admitted.

How to obtain Emigration Clearance

(i) A worker holding ECR passport, on receipt of employment offer in Saudi Arabia, is
required to obtain Emigration Clearance (EC).
(ii) If the recruitment is through an RA holding valid demand letter/or an accredited Project
Exporter(PE)/ a Foreign Employer (FE) with a valid permit, the respective RA/PE/FE, as the
case may be, shall obtain the Emigrant Clearance for the worker.
